BULK TRASH COLLECTION

  • Place items near dumpsters Sunday evening, after dusk (dusk is a period of time occurring at the end of the day during which the sun sets and it gets dark), for pickup Monday.

DUMPSTERS ARE FOR USE BY APARTMENT & CONDOMINIUM RESIDENTS ONLY

Apartment and/or Condominium Management have the right to prosecute violators.

FINES WILL BE ISSUED FOR TRASH PUT OUT AT AN IMPROPER TIME OR LOCATION.

  • Trash shall be placed out for collection no earlier than dusk the evening before (dusk is a period of time occurring at the end of the day during which the sun sets and it gets dark) and no later than 7:00 AM the morning of your scheduled collection day.
  • Household trash shall be packed securely in commercially available polyethylene or similar plastic bag ***NO PAPER BAGS*** or department store bags.
  • Commercial plastic bags shall be placed outside your rear fence.
  • DETACHED HOMES shall place their plastic bags at the curb line.
  • Bags must weigh less than 30 pounds.
  • Trash cans are not to be used for collection.

The following items are considered non-collectable refuse and SHALL NOT be placed out for collection.

  • Any materials generated by a private contractor working for you. If you are paying a contractor to do work, in or around your home, you and/or your contractor shall be responsible for the removal and disposal of any and all debris.
  • Hazardous chemicals such as pesticides, motor oil, antifreeze, paint thinners, florescent bulbs must be disposed at Mercer County Hazardous waste disposal days. For more information call 609-278-8086.
  • Earth, stones, trees.
  • Automotive parts.
  • INCLUDE – Only items with a 1 or 2 in the recycling should be recycled. Glass food & beverage jars and bottles (clear, green & brown), aluminum food & beverage cans, steel food & beverage cans, plastic soda, water and milk bottles. Plastic detergent, shampoo & hair spray bottles (solid white or color bottles)
  • Newspapers & inserts, phone books, magazines, catalogs & “junk mail”, school, copier & computer paper, file folders, envelopes, office paper. White & colored stationary, dry food boxes, (remove liners), powdered detergent boxes, shoe & gift boxes and paper bags.
  • DO NOT INCLUDE – broken glass, or light bulbs, cosmetic, medicine or perfume bottles, dishes or drinking glasses, ceramics, decorative glass, flower pots, window or mirror glass. No aluminum foil, cooking or baking dishes, No pots, pans or metal scrap. No metal or plastic tools or utensils.
  • Plastic bags, paper towels, tissue or tissue paper. No pizza boxes or other food-stained boxes, no frozen food boxes, or wax paper. No papers which contain plastic. No Styrofoam.
  • INCLUDE corrugated cardboard. (It has the wavy middle layer). Place other types of cardboard (cereal, gift boxes, etc.) in clear recycle bags.
  • DO NOT INCLUDE the type treated with a wax or plastic coating or any food-stained cardboard like pizza boxes. Remove all plastic wrapping and Styrofoam. They should be disposed of as trash.
  • PLACE outside the rear fence no earlier than the Wednesday evening (dusk) and no later than 7:00AM the morning of the scheduled collection day, which is Thursday for recycling.

BULK REFUSE” is major household appliances, fixtures and furniture, ranges, refrigerators, washing machines, hot water boilers, bathtubs, screens and storm windows, and garden debris. Residents should attempt to dispose of these items through the vendor they are purchasing the new item from before scheduling a pickup from the Trust Office. Mattresses and box springs must be completely wrapped in plastic.

BULK refuse shall be collected by calling the Trust Office at 609-443-1113 for an appointment. Calls must be received by 3:00 pm the day before the pickup date.

LONG BULK ITEMS SHALL BE CUT AND TIED securely in bundles not more than 4 feet in length and weighing not more than 30 pounds, i.e., lumber, carpet, etc.

  • Leaves, grass clippings, and garden debris must be bagged not weighing more than 30 pounds.
  • TREE AND SHRUB BRANCHES SHALL BE CUT AND TIED securely in bundles not more than 4 feet in length and weighing not more than 30 pounds.
  • Place behind your rear fence for townhouses or at the curb for detached homes for Wednesday collection.

Apartment and/or Condominium Management have the right to prosecute violators.
